About the Yangon Orchestra
The Yangon Orchestra is a non-profit musical society. It is more than a band. Our hope is that the Yangon Orchestra would outlive any of its members. We dream to become a full instrument symphony orchestra, a breeding ground for generations of talented musicians.

The purpose of the orchestra is -

1.
to train promising young talents by creating practice and performance opportunities and a learning community,
2.
to embrace different musical genres and expand our repertoire to include Myanmar traditional & contemporary music, using western classical music as the base,
3.
to create musical pieces on our own
4.
to organize concerts and music education seminars for children at schools,
5.
to provide services to the community and
6.
to organize public concerts.

Since the Yangon Orchestra is not for profit, we hope to develop our orchestra with the patronage and contributions from the musicians, individuals and businesses from Myanmar and from the Myanmar people living around the world.

Myanmar Marketing Association (MMktA) is facililtating the Yangon Orchestra with fund-raising and organization activities.
